You want more??? Okay... Here's more.

Some of you said give us more... and give us book titles. Guess it's interesting to a lot of folks, the old west... "Jim Miller: The Untold Story of a Texas Badman" by Bill C. James; "Shogun For Hire: The Story of 'Deacon' Jim Miller. Killer Of Pat Garrett" By Glenn Shirley; "The Early History Of Ada" by J. Hugh Biles; "Four Men Hanging: The End of the Old West" by Welborn Hope.

You can also google hanging in Ada OK.

After I get past this flu that is going around I relate more of the stories about this time in history and I hope you will enjoy them.

I'm going back to bed now.

Loved your Uncle Jesse story. What a poweful image, his wife going into a burning building to save her children and getting badly burned in the process...
Come back and blog - much better for your flu than daytime television!

Hope you get to feeling better. Flu isn't any fun!

I need to write down stories my grandma and grandpa told me before they are lost in the cobwebs of my mind.

My Grandpa loved to tell about the Roaring 20's....especially the night he hitched a ride on the running board of a car....you know moon-shine can make you do some wild and crazy things. He told the driver or passenger he was "Pretty Boy Floyd" (a famous hoodlum of the times), which he wasn't, but he had the snapping blue eyes and coal black hair...Well they might not have been so impressed, as they tossed him off the running board, while the car was still going down the road. LOL. He wasn't hurt...and his bottle survived.

Feel better soon Helen! I love your stories. Right now I am reading "The Innoent Man" By John Grisham. I got it from the library a couple of days ago. It's a true story about a man, sentenced to death row in an Ada homicide case. I can't put it down!

Rest up, take care of yourself and stop feeling like an Old Gal.
That's what did it you know... You're feeling like warmed over doo-doo and it just popped out in the comment you made.

a painting I made Hard to find any thing damning on Bobbit, though a doucumentary points to his shady past.

Also on Jesse West, there appear many reasonable grudges he would have had to see Bobbit killed.

I also read the West said he would have kiled Bobbit himself, except that he never had the chance.

This feels like a Shoot out at OK corral type historical event. The law in 2009 holds many of the same qualities as it did in 1909,1921...ect in Oklahoma.

Thank you for writing this. james
